Realistically, at least in the State of Indiana, the defendant nursing homes and medical providers have the law on their side, they have the resources and they have the authorities on their side. We are very experienced in the Indiana Medical Malpractice Act, an act that effectively shields nursing homes and medical providers from being held accountable for their negligence. The abused or neglected resident has but one recourse, to sue the offenders and to make them pay for the damage they’ve done. This office can do that. That’s all we do. With nearly 30 years of trial experience in Indiana and Illinois, I started my legal career in the Chicago area as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Cook and Dupage County State’s Attorney’s Offices, trying some of the largest and highest profile drug cases in Chicago history. I have also been the Chief Deputy Prosecutor in several Indiana counties and supervised the Marion County Grand Jury.
